Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is effective as of November 1, 2009.
Our Purpose
Optionize was created to help users make decisions. Since polls are publicly available at the link where they are created, any and all questions can be shared at the discretion of anyone who has the link. It is important for you to note that there is no provided protection against someone viewing any poll created. Be aware that any and all polls you create are public and subject to discovery.
Our Standards
Optionize collects only the data necessary for you to interact with the website. Upon registration we require a full name and your email address. This enables you to log in and use most of the services of our website.
Optionize will keep your private information entered at times of registration or making changes to your settings properly secure. You are never forced to share your sensitive data and information, nor will you be uninformed when it is used on Optionize.
Optionize wants to make decision making easy for everyone on the internet. To accomplish this, we also provide this comprehensive privacy policy which describes to you the types of data we collect and how it is used on the website. If you have any questions concerning any aspect of this document, please send them to privacy@optionize.com.
By using or accessing Optionize, you are accepting the terms of this Privacy Policy, as well as the Optionize Terms of Use.
Information
Optionize collects two types of information: personal information, which is provided when registering, updating an account, or asking questions; and web site use information, which is collected as you interact with the website.
Upon registration for Optionize, you are required to provide a full name and email address. This information is used for logging in and notifying you of changes to your account or questions (should you enable notifications). When you visit Optionize, we collect information such as your IP address, browser type, and browser history. Optionize uses session cookies to check to see if users are logged in, which are created upon login and destroyed when a user logs out. This information is securely stored in a protected database. This type of information, upon deletion, is backed up so as to provide a backup if necessary.
Users post questions and options to create polls. The content of either may contain personal information. Upon poll creation, the poll creator is provided with one link which can be distributed. Be aware that this link is unique, but is not protected from random discovery. Therefore, Optionize does not encourage the entering of any personal information on Optionize aside from the information provided during registration or modification to settings. Please note that, while you may have deleted a question and its options, those who visited the page may still have the information stored on their computers in browser caches or archives.
Any improper collection or misuse of information provided to or on Optionize is in violation of Optionize Terms of Use and should be reported to privacy@optionize.com.
By using Optionize, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred and processed in the United States.

By registering for Optionize, you acknowledge that you are over the age of eighteen (18) years or have parental consent.
